To hear Franklin residents John and Sandra Duck talk about their favorite restaurant— which they frequent more than once a week — you’d think they were describing an upscale restaurant in a big city. And you’d be wrong. Like many others in Franklin, they’ve joined the Dining Club at The Village Back Porch & Grille, right here in our community.
“The food is so good. The people who run it are extraordinary. They always go over and above, and they know everyone by name,” says Sandra. At lunch with friends, she tends to order one of the salads (who wouldn’t enjoy a Salmon Citrus Salad?), but when it comes to dinner, “I’m a creature of habit. My favorite is the prime rib.”
John is a fan of the jumbo lump crab cakes and other seafood dishes. His well-known weakness is Manager Keith Edwards’ hot fudge cake. “I always ask if they have it today.”
They agree that being a member of the dining club is a great benefit. “When friends come to town, this is where we take them,” says Sandra. “I have lived my whole life in this town and I am delighted The Village Back Porch & Grille has come to Franklin.”
